Invite Nana Akomeah and the NPP for breaching the Criminal Justice Act 2001- IGP told

Japhet Festus Gbede, a communicator for the National Democratic Congress in the Akatsi South Constituency in the Volta Region wants the Police to invite the managing director of state transport Company, Nana Akomea to answer questions on behalf of his party.

Mr. Japhet who proposed that the police must invite Nana Akomea and the NPP to answer questions said it is unconstitutional to make gain or loss by deception.
In a statement on his official Facebook wall yesterday, 10th of November, 2021  where the call was made, the vibrant communicator and the ward coordinator for the NDC in the Wuxor, Have and Sremanu Electoral  Japhet Festus Gbede, said “Sections 2(1) and (2) of the Criminal Justice (Theft and Fraud Offences) Act, 2001 define deception. It applies to the following offenses: Making gain or causing loss by deception, contrary to section 6 of the Criminal Justice (Theft and Fraud Offences) Act, 2001.
On this note, I want to call on the Hon George Akuffo Dampare led police administration to invite and prosecute Nana Akomea and his affiliates if found guilty.”
The furious and the vocal Japhet further said the posturing of the current Inspector General of Police, George Dampare, gives him hope that this claim could be investigated.
Cautioning and Prosecuting wicked Politicians that only knows how to play with the heart and feelings of the Ghanaian people by ways of lying just to get their ways into government is the way to go if we want to develop as a country.
Mr. Akomea has said that a promise by then-candidate Akufo-Addo to reduce the prices of fuel was a campaign promise which should not be held against him.
According to Nana Akomea, on the campaign trail, politicians make all kinds of promises, some of which they are unable to fulfill.
He explained that President Akufo-Addo’s promise was borne out of the excitement of the political campaign and therefore should be disregarded.
Nana Akomea who was on Metro TV’s Good Morning Ghana show last week with the Member of Parliament for North Tongu, Samuel Okudzeto Ablawka accused the lawmaker of making similar promises as a member of the Committee for Joint Action, CJA.
He however added that politicians should show honesty by apologizing to the citizenry when they are unable to fulfill a promise they made.
He singled out former President John Agyekum Kufuor as a leader who conceded to not being able to fulfill a promise he made during his campaign.
His comments on National television got the Communicator annoyed hence his call on the IGP to invite, interrogate, and prosecute Nana Akomea and the NPP if found guilty by our 1992 Constitution.
