Veteran filmmaker, Zack Orji has debunked rumours of his death after receiving medical attention in the United Kingdom. According to him, he doesn’t know who originated that lie; he calls it a lie from the pit of hell. Orji reassured Nigerians and well-wishers that he is alive and well. He urged the public to disregard any false information about his health circulating on social media.
Zack Orji had earlier undergone two brain surgeries before travelling to the UK for some medical evaluation.
In a recent interview on Nigeria’s Channels Television, Zack Orji described the rumor as a lie from the pit of hell.
“I don’t know who originated that lie, I call it a lie from the pit of hell that…well not myself, they had passed away.
“I saw it and I started receiving all kinds of calls, even calls from people I hadn’t heard from for years, most of them were just concerned, they wanted to find out if it was true and all of that.
“I can only say that sometimes social media has made people to be so reckless and callous to the point of spreading fake news just to grow their page,” he said.
Last month, the President of the Actors’ Guild of Nigeria, AGN, Chief Emeka Rollas also debunked rumours about the actor’s death.
Emeka Rollas took to his Facebook page to dismiss the reports.
“Mr Zack Orji is alive. Please ignore mischief makers who enjoy circulating fake news. “This is to show how wicked some people can be. It is totally unacceptable. “He will not die but live to declare the good works of God in Jesus’ name,” Emeka wrote.
The falsehood were being peddled days after another veteran actor, Amaechi Muonagor, passed away after suffering kidney disease.
