The founder and leader of the Ghana Freedom Party (GFP), Akua Donkor in an interview has revealed in an interview on Radio 1 (100.7 ) that the former EC chairperson Charlotte Osei was arrogant.
When asked by the host Nana Kwabena Addo to chose the good between former EC boss Charlotte Osei and current boss Jean Adukwei Mensah, Maame Akua Donkor is Jean Adukwei Mensah is far better than Charlotte Osei.
“The current EC boss is far better than Charlotte Osei. Charlotte Osei was arrogant”, she said on the Susubiribi morning show monitored by MyNewsGh.com
When quizzed on why she is saying Charlotte Osei was arrogant she answered; ” Charlotte Osei became was arrogant because she didn’t give me the needed respect, she threw away my forms.”
In 2016 Akua Donkor was disqualified for improperly filing her nomination forms. Her forms showed her running mate is 18-year-old not 40 years as required by the constitution.
Article 62 of the 1992 constitution states that: A person shall not be qualified for election as the President of Ghana unless – (a) he is a citizen of Ghana by birth; (b) he has attained the age of forty years; and (c) he is a person who is otherwise qualified to be elected a Member of Parliament, except that the disqualifications set out in paragraphs (c), (d), and (e) of clause (2) of Article 94 of this Constitution shall not be removed, in respect of any such person, by a presidential pardon or by the lapse of time as provided for in clause (5) of that article.
