Kofi Kinaata band yesterday was awarded best band of the year at this year’s edition of the annual Western Achievement and Excellence (WAE) Awards held at the Akoma Plaza Hotel, Takoradi.
With several media figures in attendance, the event was hosted by a western region-based Mc AK47.
The award scheme’s prime objective is to honor personalities and institutions that are excelling in their respective niche of service.
The event which also focused on highlighting the technical side of music creativity, handed out thirteen honors, including traditional artiste of the year and music band of the year.
lead singer Kofi Kinata and Sandra Twumasi Background vocalist after receiving the awards said it was an honor that must be cherished, adding that “their good track records and professional style of performing at events has done the trick.”
They also used the opportunity to thank everyone who has been supporting their band
