Kofi Manu wants government to grant imprisoned goalkeeper amnesty

Veteran Ghanaian Football Administrator, Kofi Manu has advocated for imprisoned goalkeeper Arhin Aboagye to be granted amnesty by government.

Aboagye, an inmate of the Nsawam prisons came to the limelight after displaying his goalkeeping qualities in a TV3 documentary last month.

In the documentary titled A Hero behind Bars, Arhin Aboagye narrated the touching story of how he ended up in jail and why his footballing dreams looks to have been shattered.

The touching nature of his story inspired his icon (as he mentioned in the documentary) Andre Onana (Ajax and Cameroon) to make a donation to him. Subsequently Arhin Aboagye has been offered a trial session with Great Olympics albeit its yet to materialize.

Several Twitter users also created a thread to initiate a campaign to get the powers that be to grant him a free pardon.

And now just when the situation was quieting, Kofi Manu who is known for being very vocal has added his voice to such calls.

He disclosed this in an interview with Accra based Asempa FM.
