Kojo Bonsu picks forms same day as Mahama

Former Chief Executive of the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) Kojo Bonsu has picked nomination forms to contest the upcoming presidential primaries of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

The forms were picked on behalf of the former mayor of Kumasi by his representative, Reverend Lilian Osei.

The largest opposition party opened nominations on Wednesday, February 22 ahead of the May 13 primaries.

So far, three-time presidential candidate John Dramani Mahama and one Ernest Kwaku Kobeah have picked forms.

Picking the nominations forms at GH¢30,000 on behalf of her boss, Rev Osei said Mr Bonsu has promised to do a good job if given the mandate.

‘Action man’

There were only three people at the headquarters of the NDC to pick the forms for Mr Bonsu.

The usual pomp and circumstance that follow the picking of presidential forms was absent.

Bismark Tetteh, one of the three representing Mr Bonsu, explained that his boss is rather a man of action and not populist.

“He is someone who likes to work rather than having the crowd making all the noise around him. He prefers that things will be done. He is an action man.”

The picking of forms will close on Friday, February 24.
