Kumasi Central Market: Fire destroys over 50 shops

Over 50 shops at French Line, a pavilion located at the Kumasi Central Market was on Sunday dawn burnt down.

Millions of cedis worth of goods have been lost in the recent fire.

Officials are yet to uncover the cause of the blaze.

The fire which begun on Sunday dawn spread and destroyed several other shops.

Police were deployed to the scene to prevent looting while firefighters fought the blaze.

Officials from the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO), who were at the scene said they would collaborate with firefighters to investigate the incident.
