The President of the Kwabre East Tertiary and Graduate Students TEIN/Sympathizers Association (KETG-SA), Hon. Suuk Emmanuel, has launched a scathing attack on the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government for abandoning the constituency despite consistent support from the constituents.
In a statement, Emmanuel highlighted the gross neglect of Kwabre East by the NPP government, citing unfulfilled promises and a lack of developmental projects. He accused the government of taking the constituents for granted, despite their loyalty over the past 28 years.
“The good people of Kwabre East have been grossly neglected by the NPP government over the years. Despite consistent support, the government has failed to deliver on its promises, leaving the constituency in a state of stagnation and shame,” Emmanuel said.
The constituency faces numerous challenges, including:
– *Abandoned astroturfs*, leaving sports enthusiasts without facilities.
– *Uncompleted market at Mamponteng*, hindering trading activities.
– *Lack of a proper lorry station*, causing chaos and discomfort for drivers and passengers.
– *Poor road infrastructure*, making transportation difficult.
– *No international bank*, hindering economic growth and development.
– *No training college, nursing college, or vocational school*, denying youth opportunities for skills development and employment.
– *No telecommunications office*, forcing residents to travel to other constituencies for essential services.
Emmanuel expressed outrage over President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s dismissive response to the constituency’s concerns, implying that they can vote against the NPP in 2024 if they wish.
“This flippant remark only adds insult to injury, showcasing the government’s disdain for the constituents’ well-being. The people of Kwabre East will not be taken for granted this time around,” Emmanuel said.
The KETG-SA leadership urges eligible voters to remember the NPP’s neglect and broken promises during the upcoming election. They endorse the NDC parliamentary candidate, Hon. Joseph Amankwah, and H.E. John Dramani Mahama for the 2024 parliamentary and presidential elections, respectively.
“The people of Kwabre East demand better representation and tangible development in their constituency. It’s time for change, and we believe the NDC can deliver,” Emmanuel said.
