Let Us Jealousy Guard the Peace We are enjoying in Ghana against Conflicts – Numo Blafo 3rd

Numo Blafo Akotia Omaetu 3rd the African Traditional Religion Representative on the Governing Board of National Peace Council of Ghana has charged the Citizenry to jealously guard the Peace we are currently enjoying in our Country against any forms of conflicts as “Peace is not sold at the market or cannot be bought with any amount of money”.

 

Numo Blafo who is also the President of Ga- Adangbe Council of Wulomei opined that even though our Country has seen a relatively stable democracy and a peaceful haven in an otherwise troubled sub-region, Ghana is confronted with numerous Chieftaincy disputes, Religious and Political conflicts, Land and Border disputes and a host of others which need to be resolved or well managed in order not to escalate into a National Conflict.

 

He made this disclosure in an interview with Asta Fm’s Nana Kwadwo Adu in Techiman when he joined the Bono East Regional Chief Coordinating Director Mr. George Padmore Antwi, Regional Security Commanders, NCCE, Electoral Commission, Media and others to officially inaugurate the Bono East Regional Peace Council in accordance with the NPC Act 818 (2011).

On the part of Nana Asare Baffour 2nd, Chief of Bamiri and Tuntu Hene of Techiman Traditional Area who chaired the function; Nananom were excited to have an office of National Peace Council in the Bono East Region to help promote peace and prevent all forms of conflicts.

Finally, Rev. Prince Owusu-Asaku of Grace Tabernacle Church in Techiman who is the Chairman of the Bono East Regional Peace Council on behalf of his 13-member Council pledged to discharge their duties diligently and called on all Stakeholders to support them especially with logistics.
