In the Akan culture of Ghana, men are taught not to do certain things around women who are having their periods. For instance, men and women shouldn’t use the same bucket to take a bath. Men sometimes have their own bathroom, but women also have their own.
Because if a man uses something that has been touched by a woman’s period, it could kill his spirit or make him spiritually weak. People no longer seem to believe these things. Most men today try to make fun of these cultures and may even have sex with a woman who is on her period.
But one spiritualist has warned that even if people don’t believe in these things anymore, they still affect their spiritual lives. On a popular TV show called “Esum Ase,” which literally means “Under Darkness,” the spiritualist and self-proclaimed witch doctor told men that they shouldn’t lick women.
He said: “In the past, people didn’t even bring things into the house that women used to wash their menstrual or sanitary clothes in. They were usually kept behind the bathroom, which was outside the main house. What do you think they were thinking?”
The spiritualist went on to say that these hygiene items, which were clothes, were not brought to the house because they were dirty and scared away good spirits. He said that if the bowls used to wash these things weren’t even brought to the house, how much more would people be tasting that place with their mouths?
When asked if he had sex, the man said that every part of his body was made for its own purpose. If you use the same mouth you use to pray or ask a god for something on a woman, you will become a terrible thing. Sometimes it means that prayers are not answered.
The man ended his speech by saying that people who lick women are on their way to being poor. He said: “If you kiss women, people will give you less money. It takes all of your cash. You will work and get paid, but you won’t know what the money was used for.”
The man told men that if they want to be rich, they shouldn’t lick women. In the end, he said: “Most witches are the kind of women who like to lick a lot. Attention!”
