Mahama killed the prospect for a Presidential debate with his public calls – Kweku Baako

Editor-In-Chief of the New Crusading Guide Newspaper , Abdul Malik Kweku Baako Junior says John Mahama’s calls for a debate destroys the prospect for any Presidential debate.

Former President of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama has called on Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to a debate on every sector of the economy and also a comparison between the investments made in infrastructure under his government and that of the current government.

Addressing the chiefs and people of Kwamekrom in the Biakoye constituency at the beginning of his three-day tour of the Oti Region, Mr Mahama said president Akufo- Addo is at liberty to select the moderators and the institution that he wants to organise the debate, and he will show up to debate the president on any day, at any time and anywhere.

But speaking on the calls for a debate on Accra-based Peace FM monitored by MyNewsGh.com, Abdul Malik Kweku Baako Junior said John Dramani Mahama has killed the prospects for a Presidential debate with his public call

He said ” the surest way to kill the prospect of a serious Presidential debate is for one of the contenders to go out there and issue calls for debate in the public space at mini rallies and on social media. You don’t go out there in the public space, at mini rallies and on social media and issue challenges to your opponents to come for a debate, you’ve killed that prospect so no debate, case closed”.

Meanwhile, the National Organizer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Sammi Awuku has served noted that the NPP has its strategies for the impending election which does not include a Presidential debate hence it will not engage in any form of debate.
