Mahama wants Election Petition hearing suspended

Former President John Dramai Mahama and his lawyers have filed an application for stay of proceedings at the Supreme Court of Ghana.

This happened on the day the apex court directed them to file their witness statements and other processes ahead of hearing on January 26.

A seven-member panel of the apex court chaired by Chief Justice Kwasi Anin Yeboah yesterday issued some timelines for the parties to follow including the Petitioner filing their witness statements and other processes by 12noon today.

However, the Petitioner of the 2020 presidential election at the Supreme Court has instead filed a stay at the Supreme Court.

Hearing date on the court document is January 26, 2021.
