Man beats his wife’s alleged boyfriend to death

Julius Kipkurui, a Kenyan man who was 42 years old, died because he was accused of having an affair with Chero, the wife of his neighbor.

In a statement released on Thursday, January 5, 2023, the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) said that the woman’s husband beat her to death.

The DCI says that the dead man sneaked into Chero’s house around 3 a.m. for their usual tryst, but he didn’t know that her husband, who works miles away, had come home unexpectedly from work.

“When he knocked on the woman’s door, he met her husband, who beat him like pounded fufu,” the statement said.

“The 40th day for Julius Kipkurui, 42, came after he sneaked into the compound of one Gideon Kiptanui (not a real name) a few minutes after 3am and started calling out the name of the man’s wife Chero, asking her to open the door. He didn’t know that Chero’s husband, who he thought was working far away, had sneaked in earlier that day.

“At first, the man of the house, who was sleeping deeply, thought it was a bad dream. But when the husky voice kept coming through a crack in the wooden window, he woke up with his ears wide open.

“Chero, open the door, it’s me, your babe” (Chero, open the door, it’s your babe) was what the voice said next.

“There was a very loud silence as the man, who was now sitting on the bed, thought about what had just been said. He looked down at his wife, who was lying next to him, but didn’t move.

“But before he could ask her who the pepis was, the Casanova with the patience of a stallion knocked again! Chero! yaani mekosei? (Arent you opening?)

“This made the man of the house jump out of bed and run furiously to the door. As soon as he opened it, he went after the 42-year-old with the anger of a hurt lion!

“The next thing that happened was a commotion that shook the whole village of Takitech. Chero’s husband attacked the man who had the nerve to pick where he hadn’t sown. It took the village sub chief and nyumba kumi elders to step in and calm things down so that life could go back to normal.

“In the meantime, Chero ran from the homestead to nearby farms through the cattle boma. This scared the animals, who were already confused by what was going on.

“The badly hurt intruder was taken to Kapkatet hospital, but he died there while he was being treated for his injuries.

“The man of the house was arrested at the scene and is being held at the Abossi police station while the right charges are made.”
