Man Chops Off Girlfriend’s Hand For Rejecting His Proposal

A Man has chopped off his girlfriend’s right hand for rejecting his marriage proposal.

According to reports, the 16-year-old was in the company of her friend on that disastrous day.

He then cut- off her right hand as well as inflicting several injuries on her back and legs.

Sharing her experience, the teenager said the man proposed marriage but she refused because of her preference to stay in school.

“After chopping off my hand, he took off, leaving me in a pool of blood. It is my friend who called my people and they took me to Bududa hospital where they referred me to Mbale Regional Referral Hospital for better management,” she said.

“I need police to re-arrest the suspect since I need equity. He ought to be apprehended and arraigned,” she added.

She was admitted to Mbale Regional Referral Hospital, commonly known as Mbale Hospital in Mbale, Eastern Uganda.

“He needed to wed me yet I declined in light of the fact that I am as yet inspired by my investigations. This turned out poorly with him. He lost control with me,” the 16-year-old said.

The patient accused the police of letting the suspect go under unclear circumstances after arresting him.

She petitioned to Inspector General of Police and the head of the Anti-Corruption Unit of Sate House, Lt Col Edith Nakalema, to step in.

“The Police Director of Criminal Investigations Directorate should also intervene and help us to get justice,” Ms Khainza said.

She said the police should also be charged to clarify why they sent out the suspect.

“My daughter has lost her hand and she is in pain. We don’t even have money for her specialized treatment,” Ms Khainza said.
