Man punished to weed for defecating in classroom

A 30-year-old man has been forced to weed for allegedly defecating in Sewfi Nyetina D/A Primary School in Bibiani Ahwiaso Bekwai in the Western North region.

Koo Emma as he is popularly called is to weed the school compound and mob the classroom every Friday for three months.

Unit Committee Chairman for the area, Yaw Donkor, said the incessant shit bombing in the school has contributed to poor academic performance and absenteeism as pupils have had to use classes hours to sweep and clean faeces.

“Parents who have their wards in the school have expressed worry about the health of the children and have threatened to move them to other schools,” he bemoaned.

Mr Donkor noted that in an attempt to find a solution to the menace, they formed a task force to monitor and Koo Emma was arrested in the process.

He said the punishment given to Koo Emma will serve as a deterrent to others.

“We have also asked Koo Emma to watch over the school to ensure nobody comes to ease him or herself there again,” Yaw Donkor stated.
