Investigative journalist, Manasseh Azure Awuni has lauded the President for his quick response in dealing with Adjenim Boateng Adjei, CEO of the Public Procurement Authority fingered in the “Contract for Sale’ expose, ABC News can report.
In a Facebook post sighted by ABC News, Manasseh Azure Awuni, backed the President’s decision to suspend the PPA CEO and refer the matter to CHRAJ and Special Prosecutor.
The Communications Director at the Presidency, Eugene Arhin on Thursday, issued a release reflecting the stance of the President following the airing of the documentary.
Portions of the statement read, “President Akufo-Addo has subsequently referred the allegations involving conflict of Interest to the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice – CHRAJ and those relating to potential acts of corruption to the office of the Special Prosecutor for their prompt action.”
This quick reaction from the President triggered a positive response from the journalist who wrote, “The swift response by the President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufi-Addo to #ContractsForSale is very commendable. The suspension and referral of the case to CHRAJ and the OSP are very appropriate.”
He alluded that the action taken by the President is the best, given the circumstance.
He’s however calling for a fair hearing for anyone ‘fingered’ in the alleged corrupt acts.
“Let’s hope the state investigative bodies give the characters in the documentary a fair hearing. They should be exonerated if they should. And they should be punished if they should. I have done my part,” the concluding part of Manasseh’s facebook post read.
