Manchester United can’t win Next Season Premier League Title – Erik Ten Hag

Manchester United manager Erik Ten Hag has openly admitted that his team is not yet at the level to challenge for the Premier League title next season.

The former Ajax coach expressed doubt about their ability to compete for the top spot, suggesting instead that they may aim for a place in the top four.

Despite high expectations, Manchester United’s early exit from the Champions League group stages and a string of disappointing performances have intensified pressure on the 54-year-old coach. Fans and pundits alike have criticised him, with many calling for his dismissal.

A win against city rivals Manchester City can nonetheless propel the team in the right direction going into next season.

However, Ten Hag doesn’t believe next season is going to be any different. Speaking at a press conference the Manchester United manager has cast doubts on whether the team can challenge for the Premier League title. According to the manager, their only chance next season is to be part of the top four teams.

“When everyone is available, we’re competing for top 4. We’re not in the position to compete for number one or two,” he said.

He however was quick to point out the massive competition in the League, a situation which according to him makes it difficult to compete for the title

“There are some teams. It’s not anymore a two horse race or three-horse race in the Premier League. There is Villa, there is Spurs, there is Newcastle. So many good teams. There are six, or seven teams. All can compete. Chelsea. Don’t forget them. They are all competing for the top four and we are one of them. But we are not, at this moment, in this position to compete for number one or two,” he added.

Manchester United will come up against relegation-threatened Burnley on Saturday and Ten Hag would hope, the road to redemption will begin from there.
