Medikal is the real owner of AMG – Sweenity

A former member of one of the dominant music cliques in Ghana (AMG Business), Sweenity has revealed that Medikal was the originator of the whole idea behind the Criss Waddle-led group.

He said that prior to popular belief that Criss Waddle, the decorated Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the group was the owner, his close buddy and ‘Kayayo’ crooner, Medikal was the real owner.

In a quick rebuttal, however, on Sammy Flex on Zylofon FM’s Showbiz Agenda, Criss Waddle in a phone interview debunked initial claims by Sweenity that Medikal was the real owner of AMG.

According to Criss Waddle, Medikal was the reason why AMG was created because at that time he noticed Medikal’s talent and thus sought to keep him close.

“AMG was created because of Medikal,” he said.

Sweenity, whose voice, mannerism and style were similar to Medikal’s, said that he was appreciative of his relationship with the AMG folks, even though he was no more in the team.

He stated that he had also formed his clique, No Trespass Gang after his secession from the AMG group.

Sweenity added that even though some of his songs have been attributed to Medikal in the past because he was less visible on the music scene, he was grateful because he is rapidly gaining recognition for his work.

“It is somehow like a blessing for someone to even hear my song and think of me as sounding similar to Medikal,” he said.
