Mfantseman MP robbery victim cries for help

A victim of the armed robbery that took the life of the Member of Parliament (MP)  for Mfantseman, is crying for help as he struggles to undergo surgery to remove pellets embedded in his body.

Patrick Asante, the truck driver, who was first shot by the robbers before the late MP got to the scene, is still suffering from the effects of the incident as he appeals for help to enable him remove the pellets from his body.

The continued stay of the pellets in his body poses other health threats to the driver, who said his resources were all gone into medical bills

Though he has started work, Mr. Asante said the pain and fear of complications, kept tormenting him.

“I am trying hard to raise funds to undergo another surgery to remove these pellets, else I risk having serious problems; this could be fatal to me,” he said amidst tears.

Mr. Asante is appealing to philanthropists, organizations and the general public to come to his rescue. One may reach him on 0552026408.

It would be recalled that, during last year’s electioneering campaign, the MP for Mfantseman, Mr. Ekow Quansah Hayford, was killed by some armed robbers on October 9, 2020 on the Mankessim-Assufosu road.

Patrick Asante’s truck was the first vehicle attacked by the robbers. He was shot and left for dead in the bush, but was fortunately seen and sent to the hospital where he was later discharged with further surgeries to be carried out on him.
