My wife threatened to divorce me for this reason – Appietus

Appiah Dankwah, better known as Appietus, is a legendary Ghanaian music producer. He has talked about how he started adding his signature “Appietus in the Mix” to the songs he made.

In an interview on Citi TV’s “Upside Down,” Appietus told the hosts, Frema Adunyame and Nana Tuffour, what made him start putting his name on the songs he recorded: “My wife and I went to the Ghana Music Awards years ago, and I wasn’t awarded… Most of the people who won had their names on the songs they had made… So, on the way home from the event, my wife told me, “The only way I’ll get a prize is if I put my own stamp on the songs.”

“She told me she would divorce me if I didn’t sign all the songs I made… Since then, I’ve won a lot of awards thanks to what she told me,” he said.

Since the beginning of his career 10 years ago, the music producer has won six awards in the music industry.

His name, Appietus, became well-known because of the phrase “Appietus in the mix.”

The veteran music producer explained that his name, “Appietus,” came from the phrase “Appiahs’ Tools.”

Appietus has worked with some of the most popular musicians in the country to record more than 200 hit songs.
