Kenya’s judiciary has closed a court in the capital, Nairobi after some members of staff tested positive for coronavirus.
The Makadara court will be closed for 14 days. All members of staff have been told to self-isolate.
The judiciary said the break will allow those affected to seek treatment. It advised those who had been in contact with the staff members to reach out if they exhibit symptoms.
A letter to the staff of the affected court, shared by the local media, said the ministry of health had been contacted to conduct mass tests, but there was a huge demand for testing services.
The judiciary said a Mombasa court that had been closed under similar circumstances had been reopened after the affected staffers tested negative.
