Nana Ngoa Anyimah Kodom II Task Chiefs To Adopt Tree Planting Initiative
The Chief of Bibiani, in the Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai Municipality of the western north region, Nana Ngoa Anyimah Kodom II has tasked fellow chiefs to adopt tree planting Initiative in their various communities.
He said this could have saved thousands if the various chiefs embarked on such a progressive journey in their communities.
In a brief interview with the press in Bibiani- Estate during tree planting exercise yesterday, he said the exercise would go a long way to help the check the climate change which has become an albatross and a treat to human life.
The traditional authority expressed worry over the attitudes of some people who are deliberately removing the trees planted in some part of Bibiani, adding it beat his imagination to the said destructive behaviors.
He reiterated his commitment to grow more trees and ensure all trees planted will be catered for to meet its purpose, while calling for collaboration of all well meaning Ghanaians to ensure the betterment of such progressive initiative.
“My simple message is that all chiefs must involve in the tree planting exercise. It’s important for us to take progressive initiatives in our societies without waiting for the government. It’s very bad,” he stated.
“I will urge avoiding removing or killing the trees planted in some parts of Bibiani. It’s very painful doing this to ourselves. An Initiative which will go a long way to help the community must be given proper attention than fighting against it. We need collaborative effort to ensure the growth of our communities.”
In conclusion, he questioned the authorities about the essence of we spending a huge amount of money on Green Ghana without taking proper care of the trees planted, adding it’s rather unfortunate and must be given a second thought.
