During a recent campaign rally, NPP’s presidential running mate, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, made a startling claim that reveals his profound ignorance about God’s nature. In an attempt to discredit the NDC’s proposed 24-Hour Economy Policy, he stated that even God, who created the world, sleeps at night, implying that the policy won’t work. Here are some biblical truths that expose NAPO’s blasphemous claim and reaffirm why Ghanaians should support the NDC in the upcoming elections.
1. God is omnipresent and always awake. Psalm 121:4 – “Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.”
2. God’s nature is beyond human limitations. Psalm 102:25-27 – “Of old hast thou laid the foundation of the earth: and the heavens are the work of thy hands. They shall perish, but thou shalt endure: yea, all of them shall wax old like a garment; as a vesture shalt thou change them, and they shall be changed: But thou art the same, and thy years shall have no end.”
3. God is always working, even when humans sleep. John 5:17 – “But Jesus answered them, My Father worketh hitherto, and I work.”
4. The 24-Hour Economy Policy aligns with God’s principle of diligent work. Proverbs 22:29 – “Seest thou a man diligent in his business? he shall stand before kings; he shall not stand before mean men.”
5. NAPO’s statement disrespects God’s sovereignty and wisdom. Isaiah 40:28 – “Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding.”
In conclusion, NAPO’s attempt to use God to discredit the NDC’s policy exposes his ignorance about God’s nature and character. Ghanaians deserve leaders who respect and understand God’s sovereignty. The NDC’s vision for a 24-Hour Economy aligns with biblical principles of diligence and wisdom. Let us reject NAPO’s blasphemy and support the NDC in the upcoming elections. The time for change is now and change comes with John Dramani Mahama and the NDC.
