The Functional Executives Committee of the main opposition National Democratic Congress has denied sabotaging the smooth implementation of the Ahotor project by Dr Kwabena Duffuor.
The party, in a statement, said since the time the project was proposed, the Functional Executive Committee has held several meetings with Dr Duffour and his team to try to streamline the implementation scheme to satisfy the intentions of the donor without compromising the rules and principles of the party.
It said a mutually acceptable agreement was reached at a FEC meeting last week, with Dr Duffuor in attendance pursuant to which they scheduled the presentation of the Ahotor project items to the party for Tuesday, 7 June 2022.
The party explained that the event was, however, rescheduled because of certain issues raised with regard to the agreement, which required further deliberation and clearance by FEC.
“We wish to further put on record that decision-making in the NDC is done strictly in accordance with the party’s constitution and not by the dictates of any individual however highly placed he/she may be,” the statement concluded
