The National Democratic Congress (NDC) branch in the Ajumako-Enyan-Esiam(AEE) constituency has sent a strong warning to the final year students of the University of Education Winneba(UEW) at the Ajumako Campus to go to their various constituencies to register since those constituencies need them most.
At a press briefing to expose the parliamentary candidate of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) in AEE, Dr. Rashid Kwesi Etuaful, they claimed he bused over 250 students who are not residents from the University of Education Winneba main campus to Ajumako campus to register in the on-going voters’ registration exercise.
“We are urging all students who are not from here to go to their respective constituencies and register because we will resist attempts to have them register her in pursuit of a clandestine agenda”, the NDC leadership threatened
A secret tape played to the media covered by MyNewsGh.com alleged the NPP Parliamentary candidate, Dr. Etuaful in a discussion attempted to bring citizens of other constituencies into AEE constituency to register illegally.
In the said tape, a voice that sounds like Dr. Kwesi Etuaful is heard planning to bus almost 2,000 citizens of other constituencies to Enyan Denkyira, a town within the constituency where the voters’ registration exercise will take place from 19th to 24th July, this year to register there.
“The NPP parliamentary candidate planned to lodge them in one Maame Adiza’s house in Enyan Denkyira plus other houses where the people would be given house numbers for their registration” they hinted.
Speaking to MyNewsGh.com shortly after the press conference at Ajumako, the NDC Communications Officer of the Ajumako-Enyan-Esiam constituency, Mr. Galahad Alex Andoh warned the students not to allow themselves to be manipulated by the ‘desperate’ NPP Parliamentary candidate of AEE.
According to him, his party would petition all the five paramouncies within the constituency to send a strong signal to the NPP Parliamentary candidate to put a stop to all his criminal and inhumane behavior before NDC faithfuls of AEE would legally advise themselves as a political party.
