The National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary candidate for Tema East Mr Ashai Odampten has been arrested.

A warrant for his arrest was issued on Monday November 30, TV3’s Tema regional correspondent, Josephine Antwi, reported.

He was arrested for allegedly misappropriating some funds when he was the Mayor of Tema.

Mr Odamten, and nine others are facing trial on six counts of alleged financial criminality.

Josephine further reported that his supporters protested his arrest.
