NDC won’t accept results of a flawed election – Mahama warns EC

The largest opposition NDC has served notice to the Electoral Commission that it will not accept the outcome of a flawed election.

Addressing the fallouts from the new voters register, which is on exhibition currently across the country, Mr Mahama said its incumbent on the EC to ensure a credible and transparent election

“…We in the NDC have exhibited restraint at all times in this electoral process, even now we are committed to doing so. But we will not accept the result of a flawed election.”

He continued: “we will certainly not look on, neither will we shirk our civic responsibility and allow the EC, whether it intends to or sheer incompetence to usurp the peoples mandate in the December 7 polls.”

“We want to see fairness, transparency, and integrity in the process leading up to the elections…” he added.

This comes on the back of allegations that the EC was deliberately removing names of its supporters and sympathizers from the newly compiled voters’ register following some margin of errors detected in the electoral document.

Both the Flagbearer and his running mate have suspended their campaigns on the back of the alleged anomalies, which the EC has described as negligible.
