NDC’s Agona West Candidate, Ernestina Ofori Dangbey, unveils Transformative Policies for women’s Empowerment, Healthcare, Education, and Job Creation

Mrs. Ernestina Ofori Dangbey, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Parliamentary candidate for Agona West, took the opportunity during former President John Dramani Mahama’s campaign visit to highlight the transformative policies and programs the NDC is promising Ghanaians.

Addressing a passionate crowd at the Agona Swedru main lorry station, Mrs. Dangbey emphasized the importance of these initiatives, particularly those aimed at women’s empowerment, health, education, and job creation.

Mrs. Dangbey, popularly known as “Obaanaaa,” shared the NDC’s commitment to establishing a Women’s Development Bank, a significant initiative aimed at supporting women entrepreneurs, enabling access to capital, and boosting small businesses. This institution would focus on advancing women’s economic empowerment, which she described as vital for inclusive growth.

The candidate also discussed the NDC’s plans for free primary health care, a program dubbed “MahamaCares,” which would ensure that every Ghanaian, regardless of income, has access to essential health services. She emphasized that this policy would be a game-changer, providing much-needed relief to families burdened by medical expenses and creating a healthier, more productive society.

In the realm of education, Mrs. Dangbey highlighted the NDC’s pledge to cover tuition fees for Level 100 students in tertiary institutions. This policy aims to ease the financial burden on families and encourage higher education, opening doors for students who might otherwise be unable to pursue their studies due to financial constraints.

Mrs. Dangbey further explained the concept of a 24-hour economy, an initiative designed to stimulate continuous economic activity, create jobs, and improve productivity across various sectors. By encouraging businesses to operate around the clock, this plan seeks to maximize opportunities for employment and economic growth.

The establishment of farming centers was another priority discussed. These centers will provide farmers with resources, training, and market access, enabling them to increase productivity and strengthen Ghana’s agricultural sector. The farming centers align with the NDC’s vision for self-sufficiency and sustainable food production.

Additionally, Mrs. Dangbey emphasized the significance of the free national apprenticeship program, a key element in the NDC’s strategy to address youth unemployment. Through this program, young Ghanaians would receive training and skill development opportunities, preparing them for various trades and industries.

In closing, Mrs. Dangbey appealed to the electorate to vote for both herself and John Mahama in the upcoming elections, stating that the NDC’s policies are designed to bring “peace, prosperity, and development” to the people of Agona West.
