Nima highway shooting victim in critical condition

A forex bureau operator is in a critical condition at the Police Hospital in Accra after some unidentified assailants shot him at close range while he was on his way home on the Nima-Kanda highway Monday night.

The victim, identified as Mohammed Abdul Awudu Kadri, 39, was shot in the chest and on both thighs whilst he was driving home.

The police suspect the unidentified assailants trailed the victim from his forex bureau at Ridge in Accra and shot him at a spot on the Nima-Kanda Highway near the Community Library.

According to an eyewitness, the victim was using a Toyota Corolla vehicle and had been held in bumper-to-bumper traffic on the highway at about 7:30pm when the assailants arrived on two unregistered motorbikes with their helmets hiding their faces and shot at the victim through the glass.

They reportedly pulled him out and fired at him multiple times before fleeing the scene.
