Ningo: Suspects chase away 5 policemen who were sent to arrest them

Some police personnel in Old Ningo in the Ningo Prampram District of the Greater Accra Region have been chased away by a group of men believed to be the suspects they were sent to go and arrest.

The incident which occurred at Omankorpe in Old Ningo on Sunday, 23 August 2020 saw the suspects chase away the five (5) policemen including the victim when they went to arrest them.

Stool Priest of the Bantama Kabiaweh Clan, also of Old Ningo, Nene Ayitah who was the victim of assault was wounded when the suspects allegedly beat him up two (2) days prior to the ‘arrest’.

Narrating the incident, Bantama Kabiaweh recounted that the Ningo Traditional Council had pronounced judgment in a matter between the two factions which made one of the factions dissatisfied.

According to him, the dissatisfied faction attacked the winning faction with machetes, metals, and clubs which led to the injury of Nene Ayitah who is in critical condition right now.

The suspects have however been invited for questioning today, Monday, 24 August 2020, Ningo Prampram District Police Commander, District Superintendent of Police (DSP) Mohammed Issah Cantona confirmed.
