The constituency youth organizer for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Nkoranza South, in the Bono East Region, Ofosu Yaw Isaac (Yaw White), has chided the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), saying the party should have embark on an apology tour, not a thank you tour.
Speaking on Fabea FM with Apiah-Kubi on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, Yaw White stated that the NPP has more to appease for their members than to celebrate.
He stressed that the party actually needed to compensate its members with an apology to restore the elections lost heartfelt.
“They should be apologising to the country for their bad governance”, Yaw rebuked.
He reiterated that the party failed Ghanaians and therefore needs to confront the reasons for their declining public trust.
He suggested that instead of the NPP to take opportunities from H.E. John Mahama’s administration prospective, they are rather making incredible movements to peeve Ghanaians.
“The tour’s leader, Dr. Bawumia whose mis-governance, arrogance and corruption, incredibility caused the defeat, he (Dr. Bawumia) do not deserve to be given the readied to lead this country,” he bemoaned.
He added that Dr. Bawumia needs genuine repentance to restore the party’s image rather than preaching the blame games on the tour.
He also raised concerns about the internal tensions within the NPP following its presidential primaries.
Yaw White warned that the party has not done enough to heal wounds of their members therefore urged the leaders to rather apologize than shift the blame games.
He stressed that Dr. Bawumia need sobber reflection on the mistakes done during his tenure as a vice president.
He added that the timing and tone of the tour confirms Prez. Mahama’s statement on “the country’s economy was managed criminally by the NPP government” and even now in opposition, they are managing their internal affairs criminally”.
“Dr. Bawumia is trying to make his case ahead of his competitors, he can’t even unite the party members, and Ghanaians will never trust him with marginalized loss of the 2024 elections”, he concluded.
