Ntim Fordjour’s Credibility in Tatters-A Shadow of Doubt Over Assin South’s Representation

The integrity of Ntim Fordjour, Member of Parliament for Assin South and Ranking Member of Parliament’s Defence and Interior Committee, has been severely compromised due to allegations of money laundering and cocaine trafficking in Ghana without any shred of evidence.

Ntim Fordjour’s claims linking two foreign aircraft to cocaine trafficking activities in Ghana have sparked intense reactions from Ghanaians, especially his constituents, who believe his actions have brought shame to them since he has failed to substantiate these assertions with concrete evidence.

Many Ghanaians, including the good people of Assin South, have dismissed his allegations as baseless and lacking verifiable proof, calling for proof or his resignation or removal as an MP. The absence of tangible evidence has raised questions about Ntim Fordjour’s credibility and motives, casting a shadow over his ability to effectively represent the people of Assin South. Ntim Fordjour’s silence on the matter has further fueled skepticism, suggesting that his claims may be nothing more than unfounded rhetoric. His reputation has been tarnished, potentially deterring investors from engaging in business ventures in Ghana.

Residents, including chiefs, women, youth, and university students in the constituency, have expressed disappointment, arguing that Fordjour’s actions do not warrant his position as an MP.

The title “Reverend,” associated with his name, has also come under scrutiny, with many questioning the alignment of his actions with the values of his church.

Ntim Fordjour’s ascent to the throne as MP for Assin South has been marred by controversy, with allegations of presenting fake cheques to delegates prior to the NPP’s parliamentary primaries in 2016. This act suggests that his election was built on deceit and fraudulent means. Ghanaians call on the government to investigate his triumph in the last year’s 2024 elections, as we believe, like in 2016, the election was marred by irregularities.

Such allegations have raised serious questions about his legitimacy and credibility as a lawmaker with many wondering if his actions in Parliament are guided by a commitment to the people or a desire to cover up his questionable past.

Recent developments have further dented Fordjour’s reputation. He has been allegedly dragged before the Police CID over a GHC600,000 contract fraud case, where he and another individual are accused of defrauding a person under the pretext of securing a government contract.

Surprisingly, he is again embroiled in a defamation suit filed by South Dayi MP, Rockson Nelson Dafeamekpor, after Fordjour made unsubstantiated claims of bribery against him.

These incidents have collectively contributed to the erosion of Ntim Fordjour’s credibility and trust leaving many of indegens in his Constituency to wonder if he is fit to continue serving as an MP for Assin South.

The people of Assin South deserve better representation and therefore demand that the Ghana Police Service investigate this matter thoroughly so that the good people of Ghana and Assin South, can bury this shame .

Undoubtedly, the people of Assin South are rallying behind Stephen Kofi Baidoo, the NDC’s 2024 parliamentary candidate, in the hope that he can restore the constituency’s lost glory.

They see him as the ideal candidate to bring about positive change and rejuvenate the area’s image.

It remains unclear whether Fordjour can redeem himself or if his constituents will seek to replace him before the 2028 elections.
