Located in a remote area, the community has long relied on a nearby stream for their water needs. However, as the population has grown, so has the demand for water, leading to a severe shortage. “We’re fighting a losing battle,” said Eld. Sampson Appiadu, the Committee Chairman. “The animals are taking over, and we’re struggling to get enough water for our families. It’s a desperate situation.”
Chairman Sampson Appiadu continued that, The community has tried various measures to address the issue, including digging new wells and implementing water conservation measures. However, these efforts have been insufficient to meet the demand, and the situation continues to deteriorate.
“We’re appealing to the authorities to provide us with a reliable source of clean water,” said Women who uses the water for a domestic purposes including food sellers and other community members. “We can’t continue to live like this, competing with animals for water. It’s not sustainable, and it’s not safe.”
The community’s plea for help has been echoed by local health officials, who warn that the lack of clean water is posing serious health risks to the residents.
“The situation is critical,” said Health Expert, local health official. “Without access to clean water, the community is at risk of contracting waterborne diseases. We need to act quickly to address this issue and prevent a public health crisis.”
