Odododiodio: Confusion erupts at NDC parliamentary vetting;Party office vandalised

The vetting of parliamentary aspirants for the Odododiodio constituency of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Greater Accra Region has witnessed chaos today Friday, October 13, 2023.

Available source says, some ingrate members from one of the camps ruined party properties, including chairs and an air conditioner, and pelted stones at the vetting committee, citing foul play on their part.

The unfortunate incident transpired at the regional party office in South La, where three aspirants: Nii Okai Laryea, Kotey Ashie, and Michael Nii Yarboi Annang, were facing the committee with the confidence of sailing through so as to replaced the incumbent MP, Edwin Nii Lantey Vanderpuye, who is not seeking re-election.

The Odododiodoo Constituency did not participate in the last NDC vetting exercise that took place in February 2023 due to some internal issues that the party needed to address.

The vetting was to determine the fate of the three aspirants for the party’s parliamentary primary, which is slated for Tuesday, October 31, 2023.

Meanwhile, one of the parliamentary aspirants,Mr Michael Nii Yarboi Anang, has successfully gone through vetting with the hope of representing the party in the Constituency. .

Mr Anang was a defected Member of the New Patriotic Party, who is aspiring to be the Parliamentary Candidate for the Odododiodoo Constituency on the ticket of the NDC.

In an exclusive interview with a popular boxer, Bukom Banku, said, “We love Mr Anang and we want him to represent us in parliament. He serves and gives people in the community jobs, he helps the community, so we want him to represent us”.

Some party faithfuls also lamented that the committee are trying to scheme the parliamentary slot to favor one candidate.
