Okyeman Council rejects NDC Kwame Zu’s written apology

The Okyeman Council says it will not accept the written apology from the Ashanti Regional Secretary of the NDC, Mr. Kwame Zu.

According to them, the party will have to come in person and apologize to the Okyeman council for some pacification to be done before any form of apology will be accepted.

Speaking on Okay FM’s Ade Akye Abia program, Chief Linguist to Okyehene Nana Kojo Antwi Bosiako explained that they have heard of the apology from the Ashanti Regional NDC’s secretary but that is not what they are expecting.

“Some political parties are taking the Okyeman Council for granted and as a matter of fact, the Paramount Chief Okyehene Amoatia Ofori Panyin which we will not allow as a council

“The three days ultimatum still holds so we are urging the NDC leadership to come forward and render an unqualified apology and pacify themselves ritually before they can take up any campaign activity in the 942 towns and villages under the Okyeman council,” he add.

The Ashanti Regional Secretary of the NDC, Kwame Zu was heard making what the Council considers to be uncomplimentary remarks about the Okyehene.

He suggested that the King drank the same water with animals prior to the John Mahama led administration coming into power.

The Akyem Abuakwa Traditional Council led by its State Secretary Daniel Marfo Ofori addressing the media after a demonstration Monday morning roundly condemned the comments.
