Otumfour Declares Asotwe Stool Vacant, Warns Self-Acclaimed Chief To Stay Off

 

Following multiple reports of land disputes and attacks on residents by the self-styled chief, Otomfour Osei Tutu II, Asantehene, has declared the Asotwe Stool vacant.

During his final sitting on Monday, December 18, 2023, Asantehene issued a warning to Nana Gyni Akenten, the self-proclaimed chief of the Asotwe Stool, telling him to keep off the stool so that the Queen Mother of the Asotwe could select the best candidate from among the Royals to become the new chief for the Asotwe people.

He also cautioned Nana Gyni Akenten against engaging in any activity on the stool land without first consulting Nana Adjoa Brayie Sika, the Queen Mother.

Asona Abusuapenin, Openin Yaw Nkansah is appealing to Otumfour Osei Tutu II the ‘Asantehene’ to intervene and free the Asotwe community from the hands of the hidden criminals who hunt them during their daily activities under the influence of the self-style chief, Nana Gyni Akenten who claimed himself as the chief of Asotwe.

According to him, the Police officers who are known to be providing security for the people of Asotwe have now joined the hidden criminals (laggards) to intimidate people with no course.

“We are currently living with fear and panic as the laggards and police personnel are Intimidating us during our daily activities – hence, we are appealing to the Asantehene Otumfour Osei Tutu II to intervene in the matter.

Speaking at a press conference this morning at Asotwe in the Ejisu Municipal of the Ashanti region, he said the community has no officially installed chief but likely enough, Asantehe has given the Obaapenin Nana Adjoa Brayie Sika of Asotwe to install the right Royal to take care of the Asotwe town.
