The Gyapoomu Royal family of Nkoranza has made a humble and passionate appeal to His Royal Majesty Otumfour Osei Tutu II, the Asantehene to come to their aide as the self acclaimed Omanhene of Nkoranza Traditional Council Kwaku Soro is using his unlawfully acquired Gazette to instruct the security and the Municipal Chief Executive through the Registrar of the Traditional Council to intimidating nananom and any member of the Royal Family who refuses to acknowledge him as the Omanhene.

Speaking to the media at the Omanhemaa’s palace, Nana Ata-Fosu Owusu Ababio the Asamanhene and spokesperson for the Royal family as well as the Omanhemaa Nana Adutwumwaa Morosa Dudaa-Kani admitted that, Kwaku Soro is a member of the Gyapoomu family and among the three contestants who presented their drinks to the Omanhemaa for consideration when the stool became vacant after the demise of Okatakyie Agyeman Kodom about seven years ago but was not nominated by the queen mother who by traditions has the sole right to nominate a candidate for Baffo Pim Stool. He further explained that, the aforementioned Kwaku Soro has not also swear the oath of allegiance to His Royal Majesty Otumfour Osei Tutu II, the accredited Owner of Baffo Pim Stool of Nkoranza.

Nana Asamanhene said the Royal Family is not happy about the way Kwaku Soro is hiring thugs to go after nananom who are loyal to the Paramount Queen Mother. He cited and supported same with evidence how Dotobaa Dikro Nana Gyasi Gyabaa was brutally assaulted for allegedly making a pronouncement that there’s no Paramount Chief at Nkoranza.

Nana Asamanhene further mentioned the unlawful arrest of Nana Adu Kofi the Atikoanohene for allegedly visiting the office of the Registrar of the Nkoranza Traditional Council, destoolment of Abirahemaa Nana Kokorama Nyarko for not organizing her fellow queen mothers to rally behind him, destoolment of the head of Baamu family Nana Akwasi Kune for not giving him access to the Baamu among others as a worrying development which if care is not taking can mud the peace currently enjoyed by the good people of Nkoranza.

In conclusion, Nana Ata-Fosu Owusu Ababio respectfully appeal to His Royal Majesty Otumfour Osei Tutu II to come and salvage the situation. He further pray the security operatives headed by the M C E to appreciate that there’s no Paramount Chief at Nkoranza hence they should be neutral in the way they handle issues related to the Chieftaincy dispute.
