The LGBTQ Bill has been finally approved by Parliament after many years of struggle to pass the bill.
Ghana’s parliament has approved a custodial sentence ranging from a minimum of 3 years to a maximum of 5 years for the willful promotion, sponsorship, or support of LGBTQ+ activities in the country.
According to the bill, persons caught in the act would also be subjected to a minimum sentence of 6 months and a maximum sentence of 3 years.
This was approved in parliament by members of the house and this has clearly shown the position of Ghana as the LGBTQ is concerned.
