Paul Pogba gets hero’s treat as he visits native Guinea, meets military ruler

Former Manchester United midfielder, Paul Pogba, was given a massive reception when he arrived in his native Guinea for a visit.

Pogba, according to videos posted on social media was given a military escort from the airport through principal streets of Conakry as motorbike riders provided dispatch duties to his convoy.

The player draped in local attire and a cap stood waist high out of his vehicle waving at the hundreds of people who cheered along the streets.

The Presidency shared a video of Pogba’s meeting with head of the military junta, Mamady Doumbouya.

The player was in the company of his mother, US-based Senegalese musician Akon and Malian music great, Salif Keita.

Pogba said he had returned to his native land to make significant contributions in helping the development trajectory of the West African nation.
