A businessman of Portuguese nationality was fatally shot for negligence, on Thursday, August 12, in Talatona district, in Angola, by an agent of a private security company.

The 55-year-old Portuguese, who was self-employed, in an activity not disclosed by the National Police, was hit with an AKM shot in the abdomen.

The spokesman for the provincial command of the corporation, superintendent Nestor Goubel, told ANGOP that the homicide took place around 3 pm in the Kifica neighborhood, an urban district of Benfica.

“We are aware of the case of voluntary homicide by firing a firearm of the AKM type, which has already been seized, in an action carried out by a 46-year-old citizen already detained and the security of a private security company,” he stressed.

He referred that the security guard started working that same day, for the first time in the company, and when he surrendered the weapon given to him, while he was handling it, he fired several indiscriminate shots, with one of the projectiles fatally hitting the Portuguese citizen.
