PRESS RELEASE — CONCERNED DRIVERS ASSOCIATION OF GHANA(C-DAG) URGES PRESIDENT JOHN MAHAMA TO ADDRESS LGBT ISSUES WITH CRITICAL ATTENTION
The Concerned Drivers Association of Ghana calls on His Excellency President John Dramani Mahama to handle the ongoing LGBT discussions with the critical attention they deserve. As representatives of a significant segment of the Ghanaian population, we stand with the majority of citizens—approximately 99%—who oppose LGBT practices and believe urgent action is needed to address this matter.
We commend the president for appointing competent ministers to assist in governing the nation effectively.
Furthermore, we acknowledge and applaud the swift intervention by the government to negotiate for oil, ensuring the country’s electricity supply shortly after inauguration.
This demonstrates a proactive approach to solving national challenges, and we are grateful for this effort.
We also wish to address the recent comments by some communicators of the opposition NPP. It is disingenuous for them to criticize the use of a bulletproof car gifted to President Mahama by his brother, Ibrahim Mahama, when, during their tenure, a Toyota V8 vehicle was allocated solely for the chair of former President Akufo-Addo.
Such selective criticism undermines constructive dialogue and national unity. We urge the NPP to call their communicators to order and focus on issues that genuinely affect the welfare of Ghanaians.
On the matter of LGBT practices, we reiterate that as an association, we do not subscribe to such activities.
We firmly believe that enacting laws to curb these practices is necessary to uphold the values and beliefs of the Ghanaian people.
The earlier such measures are implemented, the better it will be for the nation.
