The Residents of the above Constituencies of the Western North Region are appealing to the minister of Roads and Highway to call the contractor constructing the road linking Sefwi Juaboso to Aowin Suaman, Dadieso through Bodi Constituency to order in other to hasten up with construction work in order to make the road motorable for motorist
This road in question is less than 30 kilometers and has been awarded to a contractor who had began works on a number of coverts on the road.
This has taken the contractor more than four (4) years and he is still not showing any sign of seriousness on the road. What is more dangerous is that of the shoddy work and the manholes he has created on the road. This has made it difficult for motorists to use the road. This is more dangerous in this rainy season to the extent that rivers have overflown their banks and had blocked the road for a week making it extremely for motorists since they have to transit the passenger at another cost through the means of a canoe to cross the river, *SUI* to the other side of the road for another car to transport them to their final destination .
Moreover, the road linking Suaman Dadieso to Bonsu Nkwanta was also not left out since the river *BIA* had also overflown it banks and rendering residents go through a lot of hell. The scenario can be imagined than read from this article.
Videos have been made attached to this article for your attention
This problem of poor road network has affected the activities of the residents living in the villages since they cannot bring their farm produce to the market to sell thereby making life unbearable for them.
What is intriguing is that this flood on these two roads is a perennial problem and this has not caught the attention of the three Members of Parliament to join hands together to file question on the floor of the house to haul the contractor through the minister of Roads and Highways to explain why the delay of work on the road, instead, have decided to escort one James Gyekye Quaison to court leaving their roles as representatives and advocacy for their people. If these Members of Parliament do not see this problem to be more pressing enough worthy of advocacy for their people then, I do not know the kind of representation they are giving to their people.
What is more, it has been alleged by some residents that the contractor in question is engaging in GALAMSY on the road hence the delay.
Finally, I want to state that, these three (3) Constituencies have equally if not the best brains to represent them, but decided to settle on their current Members of Parliament hoping that they would speak for them but I must say that, they have been short changed. The Members of Parliament should sit up and use the current hang parliament and lobby for development for their people. They should bring Parliament closer to their people by engaging all stake holders in their various constituencies for a better representation and advocacy.
Signed…
Mr. Kennedy A. Ngissah-Koah.
Concerned Youth Member of the Aowin Suaman Constituency.
