PRESS STATEMENT: OHN DRAMANI MAHAMA STAKES “BET” HE IS THE ONE INFLAMING ANTI-TAX ON BETTING SENTIMENTS – NPP COMMUNICATOR

My attention has been drawn to some planned demonstrations being led by George Opare Addo (Pablo) on the purported 10% tax placed on betting winnings by the government of Ghana. But we want to state categorically that the action being taken by George Opare Addo, the NDC’s national youth organizer, is being inflamed by former President John Dramana Mahama.

We can confidently say that John Mahama is doing so because of personal interests and financial considerations. This is because sources within the National Democratic Congress have confirmed to us that former President John Dramani Mahama is involved in betting activities, hence his strong opposition to the imposed 10% tax on betting winnings. Also, John Mahama has budgeted to fund his upcoming 2024 election campaign with betting; hence, he feels the 10% tax will affect his resources and plans ahead of the elections.

We want Ghana to know that John Dramani Mahama is selfish and only interested in things that will benefit him and not the Ghanaian populace. He always acts to love Ghana when, in fact, he has no single love for the country. We therefore want Ghanaians to ignore this purported demonstration from Pablo, as it is being spearheaded by John Mahama, all because his betting winnings will be taxed by the government and not because he loves Ghana.
