Prison officer wounded after gun goes off in courtroom

An accidental discharged of a gun has left a prison officer wounded in the leg.

The officer whose name is not immediately known is part of the team of prison officers who brought the four persons standing trial for unlawful kidnapping of Canadian ladies.

According EIB Network’s Court Correspondent Murtala Inusah, the officer is currently at the Judicial Service clinic of the Law Court Complex receiving treatment.

The court manager tells me, officers of the Ministry Police Station have been contacted.
