R. Kelly ‘friend’ who paid $100K bond now wants her money back

This is why you always get a receipt.

Several arrests ago, R. Kelly, 52, made bond and was released from jail thanks to Chicago-area woman Valencia Love. Now that the “Pied Piper of R&B” is back behind bars, she’s looking for a refund.

Unfortunately, Illinois Judge Lawrence Flood declined to grant her request, saying she has no legal basis to ask for her money back, The Chicago Tribune reports.

Love put up the $100K necessary for Kelly to be released from jail in February after the singer was arrested on 10 counts of aggravated criminal sex abuse. Her aid came shortly after the songwriter admitted to the public that he was struggling financially. She also knew Kelly personally, having met the disgraced R&B star on a Lake Michigan boat cruise, according to a four-page motion filed by the woman.

In addition to bailing Kelly out of custody, Love’s attorney John Collins claims the restauranteur also paid about $50K in back child support on the artist’s behalf when he was briefly jailed for missing several payments to ex-wife, Andrea Kelly, in March.

The R&B singer is currently incarcerated again in Chicago on federal sex crimes charges. Love claims the “Ignition” singer agreed to pay her back and that she was “unaware of any additional ongoing investigations” at the time she posted the bond.

Kelly’s current Chicago indictment alleges he and his associates fixed his 2008 child pornography trial in Cook County by paying off witnesses and victims. He’s also been indicted in New York for allegedly recruiting several young women and underage girls for illegal sexual contact, then isolating and threatening them to keep the liaisons under wraps.
