Management of the Ghana Railway Company Limited (GRCL) has announced plans to run a free passenger service on the Accra-Nsawam rail line.
The new announcement comes on the back of an earlier exercise that was expected to have taken place last month but could not happen due to technical challenges.
In a statement signed by the Managing Director of GRCL, John Essel, the company said it had successfully completed a joint test run with the Ghana Railway Development Authority, the regulator to ensure the lines were suitable for passenger service.
The free ride is to take place between Wednesday, February 12 to Friday 14, 2020 with the train expected to depart from Nsawam to Accra at 5:45 am and from Accra at 5:30 pm each day.
The statement added that the general public would be informed when the commercial services begin.
