Respect FIFA’s decision – Ben Nti tells Kotoko

Former board member of Asante Kotoko under the erstwhile administration of Dr. K. K. Sarpong, Ben Nti says the club must respect FIFA’s decision first before anything.

FIFA has ordered the Porcupine Warriors to make full payment of a $180,000 fee to Tunisian giants Esperance regarding Emmanuel Clottey’s transfer.

According to reports in the local media, Kotoko have until May 10 to settle a total amount of $240,000 (€218,915) which also includes a fine.

Failure to pay up the money will see the Kumai based side demoted to the second tier of Ghana Football.

“FIFA transfer dealings inscribe that you make the necessary payment to the club and FIFA the amount due them, so Kotoko should pay the full amount and then we write to FIFA making them understand that Esperance also owes them ($150,000), that’s how the issue must be handled because we are dealing with two separate cases, Esperance owing Kotoko is a different case of its own,” he told Light FM.

Ben Nti also urged the supporters to help contribute to paying this debt off.

“This case didn’t happen under Dr. Kyei administration but whether he like it or not he will pay the full amount but looking at already the money he has invested in the team, it would make a lot of sense for the supporters to join hands to help contribute in paying this debt off,” he continued.
