REVEALED: Selected Candidates Nana Addo wants them to win the Primaries in Ashanti Region

As the date for parliamentary primaries of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) draws near, many delegates are inundated with calls from aspirants on why they should be favored respectively. The Primaries is an exercise to elect parliamentary candidates for the various constituencies of the New Patriotic Party in the upcoming 2020 elections.

 

It is characterized by campaigns, sharing of freebies, calling of delegates etc. however; the advent of Covid-19 seems to have restricted certain such activities.

Notwithstanding that, delegates, come what may, would have a choice to make.

 

The NPP is going into this year’s election with a great record on roads, Free SHS among others. It themed this 2020 year as a Year on Roads, and rightly so, the industrious Minister for Roads Hon. Amoako Atta and his forceful deputy Minister Hon. Kwabena Aduomi, Honorable Anthony Karbo are making giant strides in the roads Development of Ghana.

 

A deep throat source from the office of the President has hinted about a list to which our newspaper is privy to. The source explained that, due to the exceptional hard work, loyalty, commitment to this first term of the Akufo-Addo- Bawumia led NPP administration; the President Nana Akufo-Addo deems their dedication crucial and cannot afford to have them “removed” by delegates. The list mentions Dr Mathew Opoku Prempeh MP for Manhyia South, Hon. Kwabena Owusu Aduomi MP for Ejisu, Hon. Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu Majority Leader, Hon. Isaac Asiamah Minister for Sports, Hon. Collins Owusu Amankwa MP Manhyia North, Hon. Kennedy Kamkam MP for Nhyieso, Honorable Joseph Owusu MP Bekwai, Eugene Antwi MP for Subin to mention a few.

 

The source explained that, list even has some unopposed and others for contest, however the directive from the office of the President enjoins on respective delegates to work hard, vote and see that these persons win the elections.

 

According to the source, Hon. Joseph Owusu is an indispensable lieutenant to the Speaker of Parliament, his success at the Primaries means a lot to the privileges and benefits Bekwai would draw from the government.

 

In the same vein, the source explains that the most formidable Roads and Transport expert currently in the NPP is the accomplished Engineer Hon. Kwabena Owusu Aduomi.

 

As such, it explains that the President is highly concerned about his instrumental role and contribution to the success credited to the New Patriotic Party (NPP) administration in roads and transport.

 

The leadership in parliament in common with government is also of the view that, the wealth of experience, profound knowledge, and commitment to the Roads and Transport committee of parliament when he was the ranking member and subsequently the Chairman of the committee evidences the importance of having the presence of Hon.  Aduomi in the august house of parliament.

 

The Majority leader’s sterling performance over the years in parliamentary proceedings is public knowledge. As it stands now, the seat of government views him to be indispensable. It occurs that these candidates have made significant improvements in the Presidential votes of candidate Akufo-Addo in the last three elections, particularly Hon. Kwabena Aduomi.

 

The New Patriotic Party (NPP), last year, elected its candidates for the orphan constituencies. Some candidates were elected unopposed whilst others went through the usual means of election.
