REVEALED: Why NPP chose Hassan Tampuli as Gushegu Parliamentary Candidate

The governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) executives in the Gushegu Constituency of the Northern Region have explained reasons why they settled on the Chief Executive Officer of the National Petroleum Authority(NPA) Hassan Tampuli as their parliamentary candidate.

In a release issued and copied to my NewsGh.com, the Constituency Chairman Mohammed Majeed and 19 others revealed that Hassan Tampuli ‘s numerous development projects personally embarked upon across different parts of the constituency puts him in poll position to deliver the seat to the NPP.

“Lawyer Alhaji Hassan Tampuli has been a strong pillar of support for the party, widely acknowledged by all well-meaning followers of the Dagomba/Dombo/Busia tradition. His humility is unmatched and his sense of empathy is unrivaled. The choice of Lawyer Alhaji Hassan Tampuli who is also a member of the Finance Committee of the National Council couldn’t have come at a better time when both aspiring candidates in the party’s parliamentary primaries have voluntarily withdrawn from the race all in the interest of the unity of the party. We commend both the incumbent Member of Parliament for the Gushegu Constituency”, the statement reads in part.

Following the acclamation of a noble son of the land, Lawyer Alhaji Hassan Tampuli as the Parliamentary candidate for NPP in the Gushegu constituency by the National Steering Committee of our great party at its sitting today, l 7ffi June, 2020, we the undersigned members of the constituency executive committee endorse this decision unreservedly and call on the entire party, Council of elders, Council of patrons , Constituency executives, Electoral Area Coordinators, polling station executives and all supporters and sympathizers of the party all to agree to rally behind Lawyer Alhaji Hassan Tampuli to lead the NPP to a resounding victory.

Lawyer Alhaji Hassan Tampuli has been a strong pillar of support for the party, widely acknowledged by all well-meaning followers of the Dagomba/Dombo/Busia tradition. His humility is unmatched and his sense of empathy is unrivaled.

As the Chairman of the Northern Regional Council of Patrons, his contribution to the upkeep of the party in the Northern Region is second to none.

The numerous development projects personally embarked upon across different parts of the constituency puts him in poll position to deliver the seat to the NPP.

The choice of Lawyer Alhaji Hassan Tampuli who is also a member of the Finance Committee of the National Council couldn’t have come at a better time when both aspiring candidates in the party’s parliamentary primaries have voluntarily withdrawn from the race all in the interest of the unity of the party.

We commend both the incumbent Member of Parliament for the Gushegu Constituency, Dr. Ziblim Iddi and the Constituency Organizer, Mr. Mahama Osman for the uncommon sense of responsibility and commitment for the unity of the party.

Consequently, we call on both former aspirants to disband their campaign teams and call on their supporters to suspend all activities related to the primaries and pull all their resources into a common enterprise in support of Lawyer Alhaji Hassan Tampuli.
