An Allanridge robber who raped a woman supervising pupils at a Free State school as well as a mother while her family was in their home has been sentenced to an effective 28 years in jail.

Tshediso Samuel Seboholi, 31, from Nyakallo Township pleaded guilty to two counts of housebreaking with intent to rob and robbery as well as two counts of rape. He entered into a plea and sentencing agreement in the Free State High Court on Tuesday, regional National Prosecuting Authority spokesperson Phaladi Shuping said in a statement.

“In the plea agreement, read by his lawyer to the court, Seboholi stated that on 25 August 2018 he intentionally broke open the storeroom of Mosala [Secondary] School and threatened the three ladies who were supervising the learners,” he said.

After robbing them of their cellphones, he forced a 39-year-old victim to the back of the school building and raped her.

Six months later, he and an unknown accomplice broke into the house of a 29-year-old woman armed with a knife and a screwdriver, Shuping said.

“The victim was in the house with her husband and children.

“Seboholi and his unknown accomplice demanded a firearm and money from the victim’s husband. They searched the house and the car and took three cellular phones, three laptops, tablet and R30 cash.

“They both raped the victim before leaving the house.”

Seboholi was later arrested after being linked to the crimes through DNA, Shuping said.
